Yeah.  I saw that.  This is asinine and all, but what I really wanna know is how are these still live on other Amazon pages?  If sales are not allowed because of IP policy violations, is Amazon guilty of allowing intellectual property infringement on its other websites?  Seriously, how can these two things be mutually true?  Either it is not an IP violation and needs to be reversed or Amazon is guilty of allowing it on its other pages.  When I asked this question to the random Indian support person, I was thanked for contacting them and the conversation terminated.

If you have a Lego receipt upload it. I bet it works I did it on a couple

They are not done yet. I keep getting emails that they have already removed due to ASIN listing restrictions blah..blah...

No more grace period notifications.

Well this is not good

Does this apply to us that sell on branded listings or does every individual seller need to do this?

I don't mind the cost to test if needed. But I doubt as a reseller I could jump through all the document requirements this process will likely need

I think Amazon wants a cert for every single toy on the site, and wants a new test every year, Toys are only tested 1 time, Not sure manufactures are on board with paying to redo the exact same test every single year,  If this is really true a huge amount of toys will be wiped of AZ just in time for XMAS

True lol.

But when the sell on amazon thread is as active as the daily deals thread :) not good sign either way

Got an authenticity complaint resulting in a violation on my account.

Customer was unhappy with damaged box so he messaged me. Initially I offered 15% back, when he replied angrily that I shouldnt be allowed to sell on amazon, I just refunded 100%.

Still, apparently he complained to amazon that I sell fake legos.

Unbelievable how there people out there that will literally destroy someone's business and livelihood for a trivial complaint.

This is so evil!! There is really nothing we can do as a seller to protect ourselves.

I'm assuming the violation will go away after a period. So you should be good.

Yeah lesson learnt. Need to refund ASAP 100%. You never know who you are dealing with...

The violation goes away after 180 days. I got one before.... But I think if you get multiple ones it might be more problematic, I don't know, say if you get 2 or 3, if that will cause a deactivation.

And it's crazy because it can happen from anything. Last week I got a complaint that a speed champions set I sold had star wars pieces inside. All my stock is 100% new so its impossible I thought. Then I realized, what must have happened is that someone returned a set to amazon and switched the inside, and then amazon thought it was new and original and resold it. They obviously arent spending time looking it over too carefully.

And theres nothing we can do to protect ourselves...

You never defend 100%. You ask for it back then your refund

It's not worth it based on what just happened to me. One impatient customer that doesn't like your response can jeopardize you're entire account.

I'd rather devote .x% of my sales as refunds as "account protection" costs. A bit like the mafia protection costs of old :)

Better to be wrong with amazon selling privileges than right with none, funds and inventory confiscated.

I know FAR too many ppl (not lego sellers) that have lost 6/7 digit businesses for the infamous section 3 complaints.

btw this was a FBA (I'm 100% FBA) sale that the customer nonetheless messaged me about)

The logic is sound, but that doesn’t guarantee the customer won’t leave negative feedback — which could then be picked up by bots systems and result in a case being opened.

yup, thats the absurdity of it. even after 100% refund you are still at the whim and mercy of some petty karen.

But at least you've done all you can do..... thats my philosophy.

Anyone else join the Toy compliance webinar today?  I did and I'm 99% sure resellers are done on Amazon.  I'm just waiting for the 3000+ compliance request that should hit in the next couple of days.  And at that point, it's gonna be a race to the bottom until the due date.  THEN... after all the genuine Lego listings are gone... Amazon will be over taken with "Compatible with Lego" listings.

It's not feasible to test Lego products because every color and every plastic has to be tested.  I once got a pallet of 9516's examined by CPSC and they told me I had to supply testing records.  Not just the results of the test (these can be found on the Lego compliance website) but also the testing methods used and details of the test.  Of course Lego doesn't supply this (I even begged Lego) and after getting quotes from multiple approved labs ($15,000-$20,000 per lego set) ... my only option was to sign it over to CBP to be destroyed.

I wish I knew what "Secret Marketplace" the Brick Bucks guy is talking about

I wanted to but forgot to join. Did they say the deadline date?

Hes very into Walmart these days. But I saw a similar warning on my walmart account today regarding toy certificates...

They didn't say a deadline.  Everything will be ASIN based and will come in waves with different deadlines is the way I understood it.  They also said if a toy has any "playability" it would not be excluded from the under 12 testing.   Lego sets 12+ would not require testing

Of course this comes right after the listing violation debacle where I still have 3500 units stranded.  I have another week or so before auto-removal and my front porch looks like Santa's sleigh exploded.

Very informative. So the strategy is to focus on 12+ sets now. Hmmmmm....
