This board seems to rate this one as a winner, given the seemingly pending EOL this spring. So, simple question. At what price do you see this a must buy? Are you sticking to the 20% rule, or making exceptions closer to retail? In my area at least, you can still find a few of these in store at Walmart/Target, so I think there is still a good shot at picking them up for $80 or lower very soon. Thoughts?

  • As product availability drops, it is to be expected to see the availability fluctuate on the website just based on how inventory management systems work. I don't have any inside information on Lego it

  • They did not un-retire this set. The Castle with the glow in the dark stickers was and still is very much retired. Try to find 9468 at LEGO Shop at Home in Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Poland etc.

My TRU has everything but HH out on display and still overpriced.

My toys r us has 5 but I looked closely and they have two layers of tape to seal the set. I've never seen this before. I wonder if they were opened and resealed. New tape is on top of old tape. Any thoughts?

They are waaayy overproduced. Get out while you can, I'll buy them all off your hands for $50 dlvd. ;)

you could connect a few and have a sick display, or even link a couple of them together as the wall in front of the haunted house

looks like TLG will be out of stock with Monster Fighters for Halloween season...or not?

Hopefully not before the double VIP points comes.

I really don't think they are overproduced.  I think there is an over abundance of investors that have bought them up which will keep the prices down this year as everyone tries to dump them around Halloween and Christmas time.

Been seeing this practice at TRU Stores for this set. Nothing to worry about. I bought one in Dec 2012 and ended up opening it for my son, it was fine. If anything, up maybe it reinforces the original seals from breaking,

"Temporarily out of stock" on Lego.com again...I wonder if their stash of these is really running low at this point.  It seems only place to have them readily available is TRU, albeit at a hiked up price.

-------> looks like MF Vampire Castle already in demand and rising...via eBay 110 and up...TRU 129.99

I sure hope so, I picked up 20+ of these for $69 when wal-mart clearanced them out!

Good luck everyone!

Already selling for $139 on Amazon by 3rd party sellers. Hope to see another bump up with Halloween around the corner.

Prob the main reason for the high amazon 3rd party prices are the fees. Toys have insane seller fees on that web site. Much worse than eBay.

Very true, I sell on Amazon through FBA and fees can be steep. The traffic, however, can't be beat.

HOLY CRAP....on LEGO Shop at Home for $99 again.  This thing is like Orc Forge...

Order some tonight at midnight for double VIP.

This will only compete with the HH for a little while and will still sell for a high price to people who have to have both. Interested to see what happens around the week of Halloween as it looks like remaining store stock on these is starting to go fast.

Should I grab some? At here there are plenty of them at $125.

Afraid that these thing will be gone by Halloween.  :shifty:

Any suggestion here??
