FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 9

With the Slave getting UCS treatment I was very keen on getting the set. The box is beautiful. The instruction manual inlcuded an interview with the set designer and some background info on tthe Slave from Star Wars canon (or maybe ex-canon...who knows nowadays...)

The size of unpackaged canopy hinted of whats to come....

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 8

Simply love the Han Solo frozen "minifigure" that hides a dishelled looking Han minigifure. The Fet minifigure has apparenlty featured in previous sets but I love the look of him.

Many wierdd and wonderful parts in the exottic red, dark and light green colors.

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 9

I loved building the currved sections. The "shoe" shaped hull has a lott of Technics pieces that is used to build the long suuperstructure and  strengthen it. Not too much greebling and some entertaining SNOT sections as well.

This set is heavy and I was sceptical at first if the stand would be robust enough. It definitely it and displays the Slave in its full glory. The hidden compartments were masterfully integrated as well.

As for swoooshing, this thing is heavy... So you'll get tired fast! Best as a display piece.

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 8

Lego is much more expensive thihs side of the world, however I did not feel cheated. this feels like a very dense set.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 9

Come on? Who doesn't need Boba Fett in their collection? With this set in mini-figure scale, this is a worthy addition to any Star Wars fan's collection. If you already have a Slave in your collection, you may think twice before buying it anyway.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 9

The UCS sets are now clearly marrked and carries a premium. This may result in people delaying their purchase until its too late.

PACKAGING | Score: 8

Large, colorfuul box with striking artwork. But not too large a box like the Deathstar. Clearly marked baggies. EXCELLENT isntruction book.

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 8

Price will drop initially from retail to used as this is a very new set. If limited numbers are produced perhaps the collectibility will increase.

In a few years we might see some growth once EOL has been reached. This is a long-term investment if that's what you're looking for.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 10

Strong stand and detailed display sticker. Any side of this ship is gorgeous. Even the bottom side has recieved attention. On the stand its displayed in flight. Ona flat surface it is displayed for landing mode and... GET THIS.... the cockpit can be oriented correctly for either.

This set towers above most sets and can be diaplyed on higher shelves.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 9

I was very happy with this set. The techniques used to construct it led to an imposing model. This was one model I was salivating over once it was anounced. I was not disappointed.
