MEMBER OWNS SET: YES     MEMBER HAS BUILT SET: YES

FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 8

When I saw this set for sale on Lego.com, I was like finally another large UCS set. I thought though that the centrall 'ball' looked a bit too blocky but if if didnt, it wouldn't have that Lego feel. As an iconic Star Wars vehicle, I think it is time Lego produced a Tie Fighter. This set looks better in real life though, pics don't really do it justice.

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 9

I think that the rare parts are the large black plates. These plates are 16x8 studs large. The minifgure looks rare too, and its unique because it has arm printing

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 6

Build-wise, the set gets monotonous but I guess its simle design is what makes it so iconic. Also, the wing-joint lock is really smart and the set itself is really sturdy. Play-wise, the Fighter is really heavy so it is hard to swoosh it around .

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 7

At 199.99 dollars, you get around 1650 parts. This is not as good as the Slave I's 1996 parts for the same price, but better then the X-Wing's around 1450 parts also for 199.99. But what you lose in cents-per-piece ratio, this set makes up for its size.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 10

Star Wars. Enough said.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 10

As a UCS set, it was only available on Lego.com and Lego brand stores so I would say it's very exclusive

PACKAGING | Score: 10

Box was HUGE. Also it has the UCS seal on the front. The front also has the Tie Fighter taking up 4/5 of the picture. The back shows it on its stand and some features

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 9

As a large Star Wars UCS set, its price could skyrocket when it retires like other UCS Star Wars sets.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 9

The Tie Fighter's sheer size make it a worthy display piece. Along with the Slave I, t is always the first thing people notice when they walk into my room.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 9

Great set, cool display piece and UCS. I would definitely reccomend this to other Lego Star Wars UCS collectors
