FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 7

I purchased this directly at a Lego store at full retail after realising that I wasn't likely to get much of a discount.

The box art looks great and its photographed well. To well in fact.

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 8

The minifigure content is pretty great although I wish there was a villan for each cell/chamber included within the set.

The scarecrow is certainly my favorite.

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 6

This build was a huge PITA for me. When it came time to out the windows together I felt as though TLG used some great techniques however it was incredibly frustrating for me as a few pieces were missing and I had to wait for them to arrive. Once they showed I learned that my fingers are to fat to line everything up and my 4 year old son had to do it.

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 6

While its probably unfair to compare the Haunted House to the Asylum, the similar price points swayed me towards the HH over this set for quite some time.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 10

The entire superhero line seems to do well, and I think this exclusive is going to be a solid investment once it goes EOL.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 8

With extremely limited ways to obtain this its a good sign to me. Wal-Mart has been offering a gift card with purchase for some time and that seems to be the only discount available.

PACKAGING | Score: 10

The box art looks great to me. Very moody and does a great job of disguising the actual size of the build.

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 10

Without performing and analysis I can't see how this set would ever lose. Limited availability, great box art, great minifigures, reasonably obtainable for those with deep pockets.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 2

This is my only area of disappointment. This is a really small set once built. I put it on a shelf next to the Haunted House and couldnt believe how small it actually is in person.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 8

As an investment piece I think its great. For a builder, it's ok. I certainly wouldn't buy a new one again if I knew then what I know now.
