MEMBER OWNS SET: YES     MEMBER HAS BUILT SET: NO

FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 7

As somebody that tries to collect Lego sets with a much higher price point I didn't give this set any thought the first time I saw it.  Upon futher review I am mad crazy about this set and I am completely sold on it!  It's a small simple set that has a lot to offer.   When I look at all of the Superhero sets there are many that have simular art on the box and kind of just blend in with each other.  This is a set that I believe will stand out many years from now when people scan their inventory or try to acquire this set.

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 8

TheDarkness did such a good section on unique parts so there really isn't too much to add.  I'll just underscore that these three minifigures are exclusive and if you had the opportunity to grab this set for 25% off you would be dumb to pass this set by.

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 8

This set is nothing more than three minifigs, a couple accesories, and Lex's robot, that's it.  I look at this more as a display piece but that shoulodn't be a deal breaker for buying this set.  Nobody is going to purchase just one Super Hero set so this set should incorporate quite well with other sets.  I'd almost like to see this set incorporated with some modulars but we can't have those two worlds coliding.  Lol.

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 9

As I've said in the past you should never pay full price for lego sets.  I'm able to pick this up for $14.14 so I'm going to try to grab as many as I can and I why I graded this section a 9.  I'd also like to point out the value for your money when it comes to sourcing boxes and packing material for this Item.  This box such a convient size that you should have no problem sourcing boxes to ship these out to buyers.  The larger the set (UCS for example.) the more difficult it is to source free boxes.  You can easily buy 20 of these sets, source boxes in no time, and then forget about them until it's time to sell and ship.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 8

There are four Superman Lego sets out there and I think this is the best out of all of them.  Superman has always been my favorite super hero and with the sequel to Man of Steal eventually coming out, this set should continue to grow.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 5

This Lego set lacks exclusivity but as an inverstor I don't think that's a bad thing for smaller sets.  I would rather pick up 20 of these at a Walmart ot Target instead of at the Lego store and look like an obnoxious hoarder and eventually get blacklisted.  Also, because you can get this set in many retailers you should also be able to use those retail loyalty rewards programs to get this set at a much lower price point.  Sets like this at big box store are ment to be played with and that's what will happen.  I'd be more concerned if big box stores sold UCS sets.  I do not see this set sticking around much longer so get them while you can.

PACKAGING | Score: 9

The art on this box is what a vintage Lego set 10-20 years from now is suppose to look like.  It's bright and colorful compared to some of the other superhero sets out there which is another reason why I like it.  The box looks like and is simular to the size of a comic book cover which is probably another reason why I really like it.  It's a small compact box that takes up little space while storeing it and waiting for the CARG to go up.

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 8

I see this set gaining 100-150% in value the first year or two after this set is retired which is great!  Individual minifigs to this set are already going for up to $11 a piece.  I would kill to find a set like this to turn over every 18 months.  Just for fun I plan on keeping one of these sets for the next 10-20 years to see how high the price point of this set will increase.  I'm confident if you were to hold this set for ten years this sets value would increase even more but I wouldn't reccomend keeping a lot of them for that long.  You can easily unload your inventory of this set and reinvenst in other sets for higher profit.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 8

As I mentioned earlier I look at this set more as a display set so it displays pretty well.  Since I'm a fan of the art on the box I'd even have the box close to the set so other people can hold the box, read the information, and get a better feel of the set.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 8

I definitely think this set is a winner and since I first started this review I've found that this set is becoming harder and harder to find.  I'm been attempting to pick up 20 of these for $14.14 but unfortunetly I only have one and time is running out to pick up more.  I don't see them producing more of these but if they do I will be all over it.  I'm new to Lego flipping but when I was fliping non-Lego retail items this set would fit the model type that I'm always looking for.  Look for quality items around a 20-$30 price point, get as close to 50% off if not more off when you purchase it, resell the item 10-18 months later when it's already proven that you'll get between 150-300% ROI.  Enough said.
