FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 7

I really bought one of these sets to get the minifigures. I really didn't think it was going to be very playable on its own. But upon building the set my view changed. There is more to this playing-wise than first appears.

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 7

I don't think there is anything else that can't be found in the other 4 current sets, with the exception of some of the figures.

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 9

Playability exceeds first expectations for such a small impulse buy set. The tree is solidly built and works well. The cart has some playability. Flick missiles are not my favourite feature of leggo but I guess they are ok. Of course the figures can battle things out on their own too. For such a little set it has a great deal of playability going for it!

Building this set is very quick and straight forward no real challenges. A good starting point for kids into this category.

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 9

This sells for a good price considering what is in it.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 8

This is a new take on the Castle theme. I think it will be very popular with children more than adults but that is where Lego has its biggest customer base. I think this new take will be more popular than Kingdoms which seemed to be more adult audience targeted.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 4

Buy anywere at the moment. Just released and raring to go.

PACKAGING | Score: 4

The whole new Castle series doesn't really strike me by its packaging. This one less than most or all of the others.

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 7

I think this one will always be popular with the kids... but maybe not as popular with the collectors that are willing to pay up big, so this set will probably increase in value very slowly. I'd look at this the new Castle (2013) theme as a long term investment only.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 4

Not a lot in this set so it does not display as nicely. It will generally displayed with addition to another bigger set.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 8

A nice set to play with and fun for the kids with the rest of the Castle (2013) series. Not something that would immediately get adult collectors excited but maybe a long term investment option.
