MEMBER OWNS SET: YES     MEMBER HAS BUILT SET: YES

FIRST IMPRESSION | Score: 7

A small set, it has two main minifigure characters, Batman and Catwoman, which catches your eye. Both come with their own vehicle - Catwoman has her purple motorcycle and Batman has the dragster. Because this is a small set, it is affordable and good choice for most collectors, plus you get two great minifigures. Batman's dragster is not as impressive as a Batmobile would have been but being a vehicle you can still chase Catwoman around is still great.

UNIQUE PARTS | Score: 6

With the newest Batman set 6858: Catwoman Catcycle City Chase, the elements are not very unique anymore. The motorcycle is almost identical to the one found in set 6858, and you also get both main characters as minifigures in the newer set as well. The Batman minifigure does come in black and grey, as opposed to blue and grey you find in the new DC Universe sets.

PLAYABILITY/BUILD EXPERIENCE | Score: 7

It was a relatively easy build. The dragster comes with two flick missles that you can shoot out from the back of the vehicle, which adds an extra element to your play. The front piece of the dragster rotates 360 degrees, but sometimes turns without you wanting it to, which is a bit frustrating when you are trying to drive the dragster in a straight line. Catwoman's motorcycle was my favourite. The catwoman minifigure comes with a whip, which you can load onto the back of her motorcycle.

VALUE FOR MONEY | Score: 8

For two great minifigures and two vehicles, the set price is decent at $9.99 USD. The minifigures alone is worth more than that.

THEME POPULARITY | Score: 9

Batman will always be popular! The fan base for Batman extends to adults as well as kids. Kids will want this set to play, and adults will want it for their own collection too.

EXCLUSIVITY | Score: 5

This was sold everywhere (I purchased mine at TRU) so was not an exclusive set. It has been EOL for several years now, making any NIB sets harder to find.

PACKAGING | Score: 4

The box art seems a little bare-bones, but it's exactly what you are getting in this set. The art also demonstrates the flick missiles.

GROWTH POTENTIAL | Score: 7

Because the Batman minifigure comes with the black cowl and cape, this set will be sought after by Batman minifigure collectors. LEGO has come out with sets in the DC Universe line that is very similiar to this set, which may cause the set price to plateau.

DISPLAY QUALITY | Score: 5

There isnt too much to display, but it is pretty cool to see Batman sitting in the dragster, chasing Catwoman on her motorcycle! There aren't any other accesories aside from their respective vehicles, so it's a little bare to display. Create a city scene with your other LEGO bricks to have a more interesting display to look at.

CONCLUSION & FINAL ANALYSIS | Score: 8

This was the first LEGO set I purchased and still have it on display, so it obviously made a good impression with a low enough price point for me to get it. The set has since increased almost five times over the price I paid for it. Batman and Catwoman wil always be classics, so it's a good little set to invest in. However, because of the newer DC Universe set that also includes Batman and Catwoman, you may see less interest in this set, when you can just purchase the newer set for much less. Collector's of Batman minifigures will definitely want the one featurd in 7779. Overall, I enjoyed this little set and had a lot of fun playing with it!
