went looking at a target for sealed cases today. the clerk didnt find any even though it shows in stockroom. instead he brought me a complete sealed display case of series 7 in a shipper. im thinkin what?!?! took it to service desk to get the price adjusted to 2.99, because im a cheap bastard. instead i got them for $2 each and 5% redcard. moral of the story is check your local stockrooms. you may find gold. barcodes on them still scanned as series 14.10 points

Hey fellow Brickpickers! I'm a huge fan of the "Building LEGO" part of this forum and topics I frequently visit and stay up to date to are the MOC Highlights, Rebuilding the Classics, etc. As for me I am still more of a humble builder but ever since I restarted this hobby I felt this urge to create something on my own or modify LEGO Sets. What this forum always lacked (for me at least) has been a thread where people share their own creations and modifications. Until now these things ended up in the topic "What did you build today" or in other random threads. I'd like to invite you all to share your humble, awesome, small, big, crazy, etc. creations and modifications :-) I'll start with something - rather humble if I compare it to all these madly awesome MOCs I've seen - that I have build recently. This is my take on "Toxikita's Toxic Meltdown" (http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/70163_Toxikita's_Toxic_Meltdown). At first I wanted to build a lab for a zombie scene with some star wars minifigs, but I ended up with this ;-) (I guess I could still just put some star wars minifigs in there ^.^). Hope you like it and share your own creations soon! This is a general overview of the built. As you can see I tried to put some lab stuff into it and it is made up of two sections. One for regular research and another one for more dangerous research projects. Normally these two sections would be safely devided but somebody broke the glass and opend the door... Toxikita and her henchmen met some resistance when they forced their way into the facililty. Now they can do as they please while they keep the researchers and guards under control. Some detail of the lab equpiment:8 points

This is 100% a scammer, there is someone who's scamming on top of the line retired sets and the MO is always the same. Location is always Hungary, with the country being another country in Europe. It's always an auction, the seller generally has 1 feedback as a buyer from a Chinese site and the set is usually something top of the line retired like Imperial Flagship, Grand Carousel, Marsk Train etc. I've been reporting this guy when I see them, but keeps popping up as a different user.2 points

Only here can you read a sentence talking about how fantastic the VD and PEE was. Now if only these two were available at Target so I could say I found my VD and PEE with the TIT.2 points

If anyone is interested. I will be building this set live over on Twitch. I'll be starting in about 45min (9pm PDT). twitch.tv/silburned2 points

Remember not to be so shortsighted trying to maximize deals that you lose opportunities. Waiting for the double VIP/bonus while a near EOL exclusive go OOS might end up sabotaging your plans. If you want EV, Sea Cow, RE or similar sets and they show up online it's better to grab them when you can unless you think the $20 train is the profit you would have made by buying the EOL set. I don't know how accurate the statement is but many senior members have said people buying like crazy during those 2 day overlap period may be deemed as resellers by TLG (apparently anybody with a brain and good impulse control is also a reseller).2 points

Only tour date in CA is on 10/31/15 in Glendale Galleria. Honestly, I don't want to be anywhere near a mall on that day... especially the Galleria. TX and IL peeps might be worth checking it out.2 points

Built 21303 - Wall-E last night. This was done on my live stream on Twitch. Great build with some interesting techniques. I see what people mean about the floppy head tho. Now that it is actually available in stores, I'm curious to see the difference.2 points

After I contacted the buyer they said that it didn't have instructions (this was clearly stated in the listing) and so they were returning it. I dont want to keep someone's money who didnt get what they wanted, but at the same time now I have to go through and re-inventory the whole thing to resell it. Im going to call ebay and see what they advise to do.1 point

I could be wrong. At my two Targets, they're hanging out on the pegs one day, cleaned out the next, restocked the next day, then gone, then back again... seems like they have plenty. I guess when they're easy to find in my area (and maybe I bought more than I should), I forecast surpluses, and when they're hard to find in your area, you might expect shortages. Human nature? I just think there are lots in stock rooms around the country, waiting for Series 13 and Simspons figs to vacate the shelves. If these were just a seasonal thing... done after Halloween, then is Series 15 coming out in November?1 point
-
I have to disagree with you on these being available for the foreseeable future. I have many targets, walmarts, Walgreens and tru available to me and they have seemed to have dried up. I doubt these will be around once Halloween has come and gone.1 point

My kids love this set since TTG is probably their favorite cartoon right now. I'll admit, it's actually pretty funny. A Raven set with her dad would be cool too. I love grown up Robin with the mullet.1 point

I haven't bought it though I do intend in getting one for the bat mobile (other than the yellow wheels its the best minifig scaled batmobile (exception 7888 tumbler) ) and most importantly the minifigures, 3 teen titans (star fire, beast boy and tt version of robin for the first time) as well as new 52 harley quinn (only wish they gave her a dual coloured hair piece instead of class clown hat). Lego needs to release Raven so we can have complete set teen titans (maybe terra too)1 point

I wouldn't be too concerned. Some folks are just weird that way. I haven't heard of any specific scams related to folks with private feedback.1 point

Looking at Amazon sells rankings, the highest seller so far is the BTTF level pack at #37, #53 Dimensions starter pack, #55 Scooby Doo Team Pack, and #56 Portal Level Pack on the video game accessory list. It will be interesting to watch this list to see how they do.1 point

If you're buying everything from Ninjago to Chima to Fusion to Disney Princess to Star Wars normally I guess they won't target you. If you only buy exclusives/UCS and haven't bought anything since the Winter Soldier promo and then buy 7 sets on the 13th I think that might be a clue. Everybody has their own risk tolerance. If you live far away from a Lego store you risk a lot by killing your goose to act accordingly. I'm new here but the people who have been doing this 3+ years have posted suggestions in the past.1 point

I'm a new seller and I hope it's not this dire. When I was researching the prices, I wasn't so focused on the declines since March, as I was on the run-up that most sets got from December thru March. I was wondering if that pattern might repeat this year? ... especially now with prices "taking a breather" this summer / fall. If it were a case of Lego investing just becoming "too popular", and "too many investors", then we'd see these declines across the board for more recent sets, and older sets would be spared (because they were hoarded back in "the good ole days" when the market wasn't so crowded). Looking at camel3 pricing (which may not be the best indicator... but it's the easiest one I've got) there are 2015 declines in even older sets like 7181 TIE Interceptor, and 7199 Temple of Doom. And there are winners this year (climbing solidly since EOL) in more recent sets like 9493 X-wing, 75005 Rancor Pit and 75021 Republic Gunship. My feelings are the Unimog is just suffering from a combination of this general "summer slowdown" and the birth of 42043. For the casual buyer / builder, why would I pay more for the Unimog, when there's this bigger badder better thing that just came out? The 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer has seen similar weakness since the 75055 came out. Sure the 6211 is bigger, has more pieces, and is a more prized "collector's item", but I can't justify spending $300 + on that, when I can get a 75055 for $110. Sure, some gearheads are super "into" the Unimog, but a lot of buyers who just want a cool truck with a robot arm... well, they just got a better offer this year.1 point

I was so jealous of Germany for the price difference of the Red Five X-Wing! In Germany LEGO Shop at Home: €199,99 while in The Netherlands LEGO Shop at Home: €229,99... 30 freaking Euro difference! But since buying it from the Dutch LEGO Shop at Home was my only chance to still get one before they become retired I grudgingly paid the higher price just to have one for my collection. Other examples: Parisian Restaurant in Germany: €149,99 and in The Netherlands: €159,99. Same price difference is true for Detective's Office.1 point

There is going to be enough of Yoda to make him worth building. I’ve plenty of Tan spares and a few missing sand green parts shouldn’t be a problem. AT-AT looks mostly there so I may built it, but the separatist shuttle isn’t worth the hassle without the figs.1 point

Well it would appear that LEGO Dimensions is planned for at least three years. Also all the booster/character/extra/whatever packs are not required to earn all in-game medals (100% achievements). You just need the basic starter pack to, well, get started.1 point

Settled a bit and sold an SSD 10221 for $850. Half price on fees and good shipping prices made the decision. Needed to clear some money for upcoming months Batcave/Funhouse combo for $135. Again, a bit low, but cheap buy-in and unsure about future for this combo.1 point

I blame Amazon. They just launched Prime Now in my area last week and we've used it 4 times already. Next day is so 2014. 2 hours is the new standard.1 point

hmmm. So going from a 7 year old autistic girl to an ageless nephew. I guess he found that the autistic girl story was a little too much over the top to be believable. The real lesson here is to not leave LEGO out on your patio anywhere near this guy's neighborhood.1 point

Really, really nice. Hopefully LEGO has something like this in the works for the Modular line, it would fit perfectly in any city with any of the old or even new trains. If I were a collector of the line I would actually consider buying one just like the one pictured, very well done.1 point
