UA Ocean HQ. I haven't built let alone bought anything in this theme but when I saw Jangs review it got me. I was able to pick it up at TRUT for $60 and for that price not only is it a great build but nice display and awesome play set. It is very similar to building the tumbler not just because it is black but it has a technic core with many neat building techniques at different angles to complete the set. It does not have hull pieces like a traditional ship so at 1204 pieces you get a lot for your money. Also it is heavy and almost 2 feet long. I even applied the stickers. The side panels open up like Jabbas sail barge to reveal Accesories and play areas. I will include a pic so you know what set I am talking about but it probably won't do it justice. I swapped out all the Trans orange and some of the white with Trans light blue and I have a BL order on the way to finish off the main Gatling gun in Trans light blue. Up next is the DBZ5 points

Found 1 at TRU and asked if he had any coupons and he scanned the 25 percent off. Buy in was 47 and listed on Amazon for $94 and sold in 5 minutes. QFLL at its finest.3 points

Pretty sure this is due to actual consumers as well. I think many underestimated the power and popularity of Scooby and the gang.2 points

I don't recall my kid ever saying "Zoinks" before. Started putting together the minifigs and sets today and I heard "Zoinks" about 50 times in 2 hrs. Good stuff!2 points

So, I think I inadvertently stumbled upon a list of future Lego releases. I tried to find the sets on Brickset, but they don't exist. I saw one says 2016 so I'm guessing these are future set names?? Bump codes don't seem to work anymore. Best way to do it is to smoosh. I'm of two minds on this topic - as a seller, I prefer to keep them sealed so my buyer knows that they are getting a minifigure that is completely brand new. This also lets the buyer have the fun of opening the bag. However, as I buyer, I want to know that I really am getting what I paid for. I want to see that it's really that mini before I buy it. Because of that, I'm leaning toward opening minifigs and immediately sealing them up into plastic bags. I've got a ton that are sealed, but I almost feel better knowing for sure that I've got the mini I think I do before I sell it. Just in case I've screwed it up.1 point

That's a new line up. For Elves, there's been questions as to whether there would be an Emily Jones set, so it's nice to see that happening. I wonder if the Palace Pets set will be a Duplo set or fit into the regular line. My 7 year old daughter loves Palace Pets, so I'm hopeful it won't be Duplo. Friends has me intrigued and worried. Yet another Cafe/Bakery type set in the Cupcake Cafe. That's a bummer. However, the Party sets and the Archery set has me interested. And there's another Tree House. After the last one eluded me for so long, I'll probably buy this one soon after it's arrival. The only thing missing from the "girls" list is the DC Super Hero Girls line.1 point

This is my favourite LEGO set ever. I have bought 3 sets, and built one of them, which I almost never do. Stock in EU says only 17 left. I really feel like it is the very last time we are able to acquire this jewel. I am going to buy one more, this will be my august investment ! If the set is massively back in stock within 90 days, I still can ask for a refund.1 point

I feel for the accessories usually. Lego Simpsons series 2 was pretty easy. The beaker for the professor. The can with a straw for comic book guy. The mug for edna. The regular can for fall out guy. The slingshot for Bart. Maggie and Lisa are alike except Maggie has one body part not two. Marge is the biggest head. You get the point. As for what to do with depends if you are displaying them or selling them. Some people prefer to be 100% sure so they prefer you open them. I've seen both sides of the aisle just depends on who you are dealing with1 point

So are people buying these at retail? I just found two at a Walmart but passed, still feel like they will come back in force with another run, or I could get them cheaper through TRUTH.1 point

I understand their limited sets going OOS quickly, or like ExoSuit last year, but how on earth are they not prepared for the interest in a set like this? So many sets going OOS quickly in the last few months.1 point

Picture in your mind the comic book store owner from the Simpsons At least he responded, but jeez... no need to be a **** about it. He could just say, "There may be blemishes... can make no further guarantees about condition of item. Bid at your own risk." What a jerk.1 point

just for the heck of it i listed one on amazon at $59.99 + $5.49 shipping credit - sold within an hour. 65.48- 9.55 amazon fee - 7.55 shipping - 30 cost of set = $18.38 profit. most of the current for sale listings on amazon are for people who are expecting shipments - very few INHAND - so there is an opportunity for some lowlying TurboQFLL if you have any lying around. just ordered another 101 point

The recently added "BB" sets above (in the edited list) appear to align with the "Big Bang" Lego books found on Amazon yesterday (noted in the Brickset forums). Further discussion indicated that "Big Bang" is the placeholder used for new in-house themes. So, with a list of 10 or so "sets", plus a couple of books...it would appear that a new in-house "brand" is coming in early '16. The brickfan attempted to sort the list here: http://www.thebrickfan.com/possible-lego-2016-set-list/ Link to Amazon book listing here: http://www.amazon.com/Activity-Book-Minifigure-LEGO-Bang/dp/0545905842/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438399614&sr=8-1&keywords=Activity+Book+%231+With+Minifigure+(LEGO+Big+Bang)1 point

Everything posted so far have been alternate types of builds meaning they only use the pieces included with the set(s). I will point out the large designs are made from a complete tribe (three characters) pooling the parts together while each of the small creations have been done with a single Mixel. Some of the mechs featured here for example by Ezra Wibowo have downloadable digital instructions for LDD so you can build it yourself.1 point

Looks like the Maersk 10241 is on its way out. Just visitted a Lego store and bought the last 4 at $119 each. Yes, they were discounted and won't be getting more. They also discounted the Lonely Mountain down to $109.... Interesting. Glad I got a bunch of each...1 point

Was thinking the same thing. Lakeside Lodge sounds like the 3-in-1 house & the Corner Deli could very well be the next modular. Most speculation has called for a corner next. Will be fascinating to see it play out!1 point

Ahhh, the continuous we matter that much debate. Look at annual sales, then look at total brickfolio values. Do the standard division. We are not that important. Lego only cares about their brand image and managing that. Global companies that are multi billion dollar firms don't care about peanuts. They care about global objectives. I believe they have moved closer but not exactly to a JIT inventory system, due to scope and size it makes sense as well as fabricates rarity and demand.1 point

I am absolutely thrilled by the idea of Rebels Microfights. I just hope we get Hera as the figure and not a male centric or even Chopper. I wonder how close it will be to the SDCC version that was out last year.1 point

I wouldn't consider a box on wheels a good display piece either. As backward as this sounds, I ALMOST hope one of the boxes is damaged when I go pick them up at the post office (but not really). This way it'll force me to crack one open to build.1 point

Space for built models is also an issue around here. I can't say I find the Sandcrawler to be an amazing display piece but I have heard that the build is excellent, so maybe one day I will.1 point

Ain't that the truth. I've long since learned to "control what I can control" and leave the rest. I might not have as much capital, storage space, or time to hunt for bargains as some on here, but I can be patient. That last line? That's the real value of things like youth sports. I"m glad my sons have learned how to lose--some seasons quite a lot --but it will pay them well in the future. DS will have its time.1 point

None, except the S@H out of stock labels and the WM exclusivity. Most everyone is speculating...1 point

I feel that the only way TLG can really be sure that the total demand for a set is met is by ensuring that the resellers have fully stocked up and the real end consumers have also all bought the set. It would be at this point TLG can proceed to retire the set. Now it seems that to saturate the reseller market the only way is to keep sending shockwaves, confusing messages about the inventory and random sold out messages.1 point

Start off by assuming they are telling the truth and be sympathetic...it really is a bummer to get dinged up boxes - especially if they are gifts...or more likely he is another resller! Something along the lines of "Sorry, I totally understand, it is very disappointing to get damaged boxes. These items were carefully packaged, unfortunately the USPS doesn't necessarily share our love of LEGO!" I would also ask for them to send pictures to you. A trick I like to do is to put it back on them...ask what they would like for you to do to rectify the situation (after he sends pictures of course). If they give unreasonable demnads (like full refund but they keep the items) then just have them send them back and you will lose on the shipping. Often they ask for less than you were willing to concede. The sign of a good seller on ebay isn't how they handle the routine transactions...but how they react when something goes wrong. And it at some point to even the most conscienious seller. The fact that they already left positive feedback is telling also. Some buyers will use negative feedback to extort refunds from sellers, but that clearly isn't the case here.1 point

I don't go to the Lego store often. I was just there yesterday after not having gone in the past 4-5 months. Saw the UCS Slave I on display and it gets me every time how impressive the set looks. I know it's still early for this set but I think this one's a winner all the way. Will try to get as many as I can with as much discounts/promos over the next year or so.1 point
