  1. I mean no offense at all but in my opinion this is a very short sited way to look at things. If you take an item that you are pretty sure is drop shipped because it was a great deal, you are indirectly enabling and encouraging fraud. The card issuer may have factored that into business but that doesn't mean it isn't theft and that we don't all pay for it. Why do you think all these fees are so high? If you receive an item you should require the person about it and return the item. Saying well I got a great deal or they are gonna just do it to someone else makes you part of the fraud to begin with. Would you accept something from a friend if you thought they stole it? Maybe it is just my moral view but if everyone just sits back and says "I'm covered" then no one is taking any responsibility for anything.

  5. Good for you. I wouldn't give that one up for anything! Check it out. He got it signed by Masashi Togami of Team BTTF and Claudia Wells (Jennifer Parker) from the first Back to the Future movie! >LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine (21103) by tormentalous, on Flickr The Brick Fan article. Oh yeah, and Michael J. Fox had this to say about the CUUSOO DeLorean. "Bitchin'"

  6. The offering on the Pick-A-Brick wall are completely random and the staff changes out the pieces every couple of months or so. You get your usual brick pieces but sometimes there are things you never see that much. Earlier this year, they had red and blue jewel pieces and I got my fill of those. I personally haven't seen anyone shoplift from the one at my store so I can't really say anything about that. There's probably like 4 employees on the floor so it might be a little hard to sneak out with something but some may get lucky. I wouldn't be surprised if people sneak out with a brick or two. The PAB wall has a flat price. There are 2 sizes, a small cup and a larger cup. You fill up as much as you can until it can be closed. If you go over by a little, the cashiers are pretty lenient on that and will usually tape it down for you. Hope this helps.

  7. I have never seen walmart do a phased clearance like target. I have seen them remove the entire clearance section for months...then it appears in the spring out front like a yard sale.

  8. The mostly adults comment was just a joke because we are all kids at heart (considering we invest in a toy and most of us actually build it). Thanks for correcting my grammar, mistakenly used the wrong there/their. My point with the comment was, make your (did I get that one correct, can I get a confirmation... yes? Okay, were good) investments on your own. Understand EOL dates, what is popular, how much you want to invest, and what % increase you want on the set, and proceed forward. Take personal responsibility, because if you are reliant on someone else, you are setting yourself up for failure. I think it's great that emazers shares his information, but I only listen to it when it regards EOL dates. Whenever he, or anyone else for that matter, starts to talk how long one needs to be sitting on a set, I begin to space out like I'm listening to a philosophy lecture... To each his own. Also, I never made a comment regarding a throne, I said pedestal. As for his advice regarding the Tower Bridge, it isn't exactly a gutsy call to say it will do well after it EOL's, everyone from emazers, to the Macs, to Mos_Eisley, to StephenRocky would all agree that the TB will do extremely well. It isn't a set that has exactly hid away from everyone.

  9. I just want to state for the record that there are members on this site that have Brickfolios that dwarf anyone named Ed...

  10. Nobody knocked him off of a throne. There was never a throne to begin with. I appreciate Ed's advice when it comes to knowing when sets will EOL, but I really run in a completely different direction when it comes to the way I invest. I know a lot of people on here do the same thing. We are all (mostly) adults on this site, and contribute different thoughts each day. While there is nothing wrong with viewing one members thoughts highly, I would urge anyone who bases there purchases on what someone on here advises (even if it's me), to rethink how they play this game. Also, Ed understands that we aren't being critical of him, we are just trying to keep the conversation in the right place. Also, I believe emes lurks because of how many random questions being asked by new people on here, "If I have $500 what should I invest in?"

  11. To be fair, not everyone has put Emazers up on a pedestal.

  12. Sage = wise = insightful I said neither to worship nor referred to Emazers as god-like. He obviously has some good info that would benefit everyone here. That is all I was saying. Part of researching is listening to many people who have proven themselves and Emazers is just one of those. It was merely my way of saying kudos to someone who obviously has done his homework. Apparently I buised some egos and that was not my intent.

  13. I have noticed a number of these types of posts recently and feel compelled to comment. Look, I like Ed. I have traded a number of PMs with him since I became a member and he has been very generous with his advice. He has obviously earned the respect he receives here, but can we stop with the worshipping? Ed's a regular guy, just like the rest of us, who has been at the game for a long time and made some great money doing it. Again, he deserves to be considered a top member and a veteran reseller. I just get a little creeped out when people start referring to him as God-like. He enjoys movies just like you and me and he's not walking on water anytime soon (that I know of). Please understand this has nothing to do with Ed - I think he provides insightful posts and is an upstanding member. *edit* LegoHULK just beat me to the punch with his post.

  14. Now I see how people can just go out there and create cults and have people follow them. I think Emazers posts some good things, but it's really nothing more than some decent common sense. If more people just spend a little time doing their own research and looking at the data that is in front of them, they can make many of the same statements on their own.

  15. Honestly, if it were me, I`d buy 4 Tower Bridges with the money. Maybe 3 and then a couple Weathertop, but to buy 20 just seems a bit redundant. If you have the cash to invest, I`d buy the bigger sets. Less Transactions when it comes to sales, and still going to generate lots of protit. Just my $.02 though

  20. 41 MWF seeks to exchange investment insight, as well as to engage in congenial banter, with fellow Brickpickers from all walks of life. Other interests include Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.
