  1. I finally finished my build of the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon yesterday. Such an Epic build! I highly recommend it to anyone out there to give this thing a go at least once if you get the opportunity. I have built plenty of large sets before including at least half a dozen UCS sets but nothing compared to this. As I was building it I really got the sense that the designers went all out and no expense was spared in creating it. All the little greebling parts were not skimped on at all and the rigid internal frame was superbly engineered to hold the large weight of the model. It took me many many hours, perhaps 50+ working off an on over the last 6 weeks. Much of the battle was trying to find pieces within such a huge starting pile. Anyway, here's the finished result. I might add some more build picks to my album at some stage as well.

  9. By charging members 5000 Brickpoints for the minisets, it enable us to move ahead with the next site feature. We are trying to simplify things and make it where it does not penalize people. If you reach 5000 points and want one, you will be able to get one and everyone who wants one will pay the same amount. You will see when the future "store" sets are released that these mini sets were a great value. We might change it up the prizes after 100 are "bought," but this way we honor our original promise of reaching 5000 Brickpoints and you get a STAR WARS mini set. Remember, we never said we wouldn't take points away. Almost two years ago when we started that program, there were no other ways to spend your points. Very soon, there will be many ways, but that is just progress and the site improving. As Spock said... The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one.

  12. That's why I'm still irked about the modular western town on CUUSOO being rejected. It had so much potential! Unfortunately, I think we can blame the Lone Ranger film and sets for that which maybe makes it sound funny why I would be so eager to buy the whole theme (in due time with discounts).

  14. For sure. I would have had Vader destroy everything in the room with the Force, before force choking Palpatine in despair. Instead we get "Nooooooooooooo!". Really feel bad for James Earl Jones having to utter that tripe seeing what Vader had been reduced to.

  16. I think it would be cool to have a thread (Maybe even pinned?) where people could post pictures of their Lego display. Most of my sets haven't been built yet but I just jam mine in on shelves as below What does yours look like?

  17. It's in my goldbox for 88 shipped. I have no interest in it. If someone wants one for that price---shoot me a pm. Paypal me the 88, and I'll 2 day prime it to you with screenshots as proof. This might be a great idea for those of us with prime/goldbox to share goldbox deals. You can buy as many as you want with goldbox, and ship them whereever you want for free. Person who places order for others gets the 3% points on amzn card. I will do this for anyone who is interested--and if anyone gets haunted house or arkham in your gb--please let me know-and I will wire you the funds to buy for me.

  18. thx Etan. I jus wanted to say hi to everyone! I've been reselling for about 2 yrs now...I've built my lego empire to over 60k at this point...my goal is to get to 100k...should be there in no time. I'll try to post some pics of my inventory sometime, but the last time I tried, it said my file size was too big, so I have to figure that out. Love this site, but don't really like to post too much. Yes, I certainly did bet on Chris (the man!) Weidman. lol I actually drove 4 hrs to Reno NV to place the bets, so that I could get the money right away. My friend and I had been waiting for a couple months for that fight. We were 90% sure that Weidman was going to win...that's why I decided to go all out!...glad I did! =)

  20. I'll go ahead and take the money and take my chances. Everyone always sites how so many lottery winners go broke, but you really don't hear about that many. Sure they pop up from time to time, but that's just because people like to read about tragedy. Nobody wants to read an update about the guy who won $50 million, never had to work again and spent the rest of his life vacationing. Yes, there are stupid people out there, but people are winning these things all the time and most just take the money and are never heard about again.

  21. Thank you for clarifying. I have nothing at all against mods merging threads and keeping the site clean and efficient, I would just like for the others to stop calling merges like some sort of hero.

  24. They basically go to the amazon site then sign into there seller account. From there you have your seller central page and you can control inventories as well as everything else involved with your amazon selling. No different really than when you sign into your my ebay. You can list quantity all the way up to 999. It does stop taking orders when quantity hits zero. When it gets to zero it gets pushed to inactive inventory. From there the seller would have had to manually relist it to get it back into active inventory. They cancelled the orders the way they did in an attempt to salvage there seller rating. Marking it as a buyer cancellation doesnt hurt there metrics that bad. Seller Cancellations on the other hand are not good for there metrics and will lower there overall seller rating. If it gets to low they run the risk of being audited and perhaps barred. Amazon is quick to kick out problem sellers and isnt big on giving 2nd chances. I went and looked up this seller. His feedback # for the last 365 days was like 1890. Feedback on amazon runs about 10%. Which means this seller processes about 20000 orders a year. Seems like this seller screwed something up in his inventory very badly over blatantly trying to scam. Still the end result for all of us is another black eye. Most of us here are already secondary market sellers or will be at some point. Situations like this one and the imperial shuttle are bad for our businesses.

  25. Hi, and welcome to BrickPicker. Sorry for taking a while to get a response to you. So I looked in the BrickPicker database for a set with the number 1845 and came up with no results. Instead, I put in the term "jackpot" and got the following set: 1707-1: 20TH ANNIVERSARY JACKPOT BUCKET. I hope this is the correct one. The info in the database is very negligible, but the little bit of knowledge that is on the set is that it was released in 1993 like you said, but it says that it has 400 pieces. Before you get discouraged, I also did a search on a site called Brickset.com, which has a huge database with pictures of most, it not all, sets released by LEGO. In their entry, all the information matches up with that provided by you <714 pieces, released in 1993, etc.> Lucky for you, there are 4 eBay listings under "Complete Listings". Of the 4, 3 of these seem to match your description. <See more at http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=lego+1845&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc> Someone sold this set as well as another for $29.99, and another person unsuccessfully listed it for $9.99. If you were to sell it, I would list it as "MISB Vintage LEGO Lot <insert weight> 1845". However, if you are not familiar with eBay, and don't think that you will be selling a whole lot in the future, I would give it to the grandkids. Good luck!

  27. As great as it would be for Lego to make military sets, they won't do it. It depicts actual war and they won't make sets that do such things. I'm with you, I think tanks, helicopters, jets, troops, the whole nine yards would be great, but you'll never see it happen. The way they get around the Revolutionary troops and Pirates is because they aren't based on actual events, or countries, as it were, they are vague representations. You are making up the story, or war, in your head. Not being directed in that manner by the toy.

  28. We're taking applications. Our last guy is in a wheelchair now, some cop who I thought could be my replacement. He broke his legs on the first day on the job. He did say small farm. All of the small farms in Ohio I've been the owners didn't have to get up at 4AM. I am just messing with Irishguy66 now... Am I English? Scottish? But he mentions Ohio? What is this madness. As for what I do: Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist.

  30. They aren't for sale. They've had various ways of distributing them over the years, but last year they only gave them away on one day (at the LEGO booth) and they scanned your badge during the morning then at some time they list all the winners and the booth becomes a massive prize redemption area. With this method only one per person since entries are attached to your badge. And you won a single random character, not the whole set of 4. They were also available at the DC and Marvel booths for doing certain things like playing game demos or similar type things.
