6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle - RETIRED!

Recommended Posts

Weird. I have a few, but it just seems weird that this of all things was retired first. I guess maybe it was the first to sell out of all the stock they were going to produce for that wave of Marvel super heroes. Something tells me we may still be seeing the Quinjet around for awhile...

I have a bunch of these and I'll pump them out once I see what prices they are reaching on eBay & Amazon during NOV/DEC.  They are still plentiful in several UK supermarkets, often at a discount.  C'mon VW Camper Van - you're next!

So now that it's officially retired, I have the chance to get them for about $18 CAD after tax (retail price). Yay or nay?

Ah, yes, I was eyeing picking one up at TRU too. The value of this set is definitely on the rise, but I'm a bit hesitant to bite at a price that is double what the folks down south are getting on clearance. I would pick up a couple at that price if I had the money, but there is always a risk they will have a sale on all the SH stuff. At least wait until thursday when TRU announces their new deals for the week.

These were pretty much wiped out in my area before they even got on sale.  I would have like to hoard some at a discount, but not at retail.  Good luck to those that picked up a bunch.  I'm hoping to get lucky and find some somewhere in town, like at Shopko.

why wouldnt you pay the 12.99 retail knowing it will be worth $30+ in a few months? I would buy it at retail all day long if there was any in my area

Are you kidding me? You say why not pay retail (US retail at that, seapotato is in Canada) and then you go on to acknowledge that they are nearly impossible to find for retail? It feels like we are going in circles...  :frantics:

Well, one of the KMarts close to me had 6 left, so I bought 5 @ $12 each and received $24 back in reward points with their 40% back in points promotion, so that was about $6.67 each.  I've purchased my other Captain America sets at $9 each, so this is my best deal on these yet.

I bought 30 {yes, thirty) at Argos UK as I have a strong gut feeling for this little set.  I just have to get rid of them just before CA is put in another set. ;-)

Should be easy to flip them in the next couple months.

I found 15 of them at a Toys R Us lurking on the top of a row of shelves. Hoping to flip them around $30.

Yep, I'm thinking of putting them all up for sale in late November as a BIN with offers automatically accepted.  Nice if it follows in the Beauty Parlour's footsteps.
