How I Found Lego Narnia...

So, living in North Jersey, I never have much success at finding any steep discounts on Lego sets. My best bets are usually Targets and Kmarts. However, in the town next to me there is a little toy shop called Tons of Toys. I had not gone in it until yesterday mainly due to their hours. Well, when I went in, I was utterly blown away. This store has the BEST selection of Legos I have ever seen outside of the Lego Store and TRU. Multiple Unimogs, Weathertops, etc. If it's not an exclusive they have it! Now, here's the best part. The sets are all marked at retail but the store ALWAYS puts coupons in the weekly newspapers. These coupons are ALWAYS at least 15% off any purchase. I called all of my friends and told them to gather these coupons for me. After talking with the manager, I learned that the store also has periods where they put out 20% and 25% coupons out in circulation. I honestly could not be happier right now. If you live in an area like mine where deals are hard to come by, keep trying! Try to find independently owned toy shops like this one! They may not all carry Legos, but it's worth a shot.

I had a similar situation... I just couldn't find any decent discounts on LEGO in stores near me. Now, I've found that some shops often carry EOLed sets, sometimes even discounted and as a member of our national LUG, I get 10% off in lots of stores. It's not always the best sets for investing, but at least I can resell them for a solid price. Still I had great luck with finding some HP sets, Lamborghini Polizia, etc.

I've decide against the unimog. Instead, they have a bunch of the new, summer lego sets. The coupons I still have work on new products so I'm going to pick up LOTR and Super Heroes sets at 15% off already.
