Lego Store Gift Cards (what to look out for?)

So, I'm planning to buy a $150 Lego Store gift card locally from a FBM seller for $100. Is there anything to watch out for? My plan is to meet up and then call Lego Shop at Home to confirm the card balance. Seller indicates that the pin code on the back has not been scratched off.

I'd rather not use the balance of the card yet, as I want to wait out for double VIP points or at least the 60th anniversary promo at the end of the month. Maybe I should just try to by an eCard from LEGO Shop at Home?

Thoughts? Personal experiences?

Not sure about Lego store, but I know that Target and B&N have banned users from using a gift card purchases with a stolen credit card (online). There is no way of knowing how this gift card was purchased. If you use the card immediately and in store, you should be fine.
