CL isn't exactly the bastion of humanity but this scumbag is the worst I have dealt with to date. Guy posts an ad with horrible pictures and says he will accept a reasonable offer. I take a stab at an offer based more on his text than anything and even let him know I was offering without knowing what he really had. The next morning I get a "I accept your offer" reply, and we send back and forth 6 emails confirming time, address, pickup, etc etc. In terms of deals, this was done complete in the books ready to go. Meanwhile I spend a large part of my day (sick, staying home from work) researching what I can about the lot and themes he claimed to have and it looks like a good deal. An hour before our transaction (11 hours and 6 emails after he accepted) I get an email telling me the price has gone up but I am welcome to stop by and make a new offer. Hey clown, FU. I admit I have had pretty good luck with CL so this may be tame to some. Got a bad story? Share it and let the healing begin!

So I have a large collection which has brought me much joy through the years but I'm in a position where I need to liquidate. I bought and sold loose bricks for years and almost always hoarded the figures and accessories like a dragon! I have around 225lbs in loose bricks, cleaned and sorted by color (mostly). I have thousands of figures including a 5 gallon bucket of just accessories. The post is on Craigslist as the weight I figured it would be best to sell them locally. check out these awesome giant lego bricks i got tonight from craigslist! paid $40 total for the pair. seller said he’s had them in his attic for at least 15 years after getting them from playworld toy store. i had completely forgotten about lionel playworld until he said it, but now i kind of remember the kangaroo mascot and tv commercials in the 80’s.

i’m going to try to clean them up as best i can tomorrow, they’re very dirty and scratched up. i may have to sand and paint them. they are plastic and even stack like real lego bricks.

A local craigslist page frequently pops up with "mint condition" older/discontinued/highly desirable legos for descent prices. I have emailed a few times and they always say to text a certain phone number. So I texted once, and they said they were 500 miles away (Montouk NY and the listing was on Boston Craigslist) and unless I got there before noon, they were selling them to someone else and had "accidentally posted" on the wrong craigslist page. Second time (shame on me-I didnt realize it was the same number til I texted and it linked to the previous message) and they said they were located in Columbus, Ohio. What is going on here? Clearly the legos aren't for sale...or they at least dont want to sell them to me...but I dont see the end game or purpose in posting stuff that clearly isnt for sale or isnt available?! It looks legit....Am I missing something? I called and the voicemail belongs to an Asian woman.

Bought a lot off Craigslist last night for cheap ($50) that probably has about 20 lbs of Lego. While rummaging through it trying to figure out which sets are possibly included other than one's I knew about, I stumbled on a piece here and there that I have not seen before (remember I'm new to this). Starting looking them up trying to match them and noticed they are Wolverine, Deadpool, and Magneto. However, after figuring out who they were, and going back through the pile, the picture is all that I've been able to come up with. How can not one of these be complete!!! bastards! Hopefully I'll stumble on them soon!

I listed a bunch of Legos in one listing post on craigslist but it keeps getting flagged for removal. Pretty sure it's not the general public flagging it because it gets removed within a few hours, more likely automated but why?

My title is "Hundreds of Lego sets - $10" and the body is just a list of sets and prices and quantities.

My body is "Prices are firm, non-negotiable. Cash only.
All sets are brand new in sealed boxes unless mentioned otherwise..

So I scour cl all the time as I've had a lot of success buying from there. I found someone selling a death star, death star II, and some minifigures. Tried scheduling a time to meet in person but couldn't for various reasons. Asked if she'd ship and she agreed but only after we had a lengthy phone conversation. Long story short I got scammed. Right now I'm out $750 but it was sent via PayPal g&s so I'm disputing the charges. She used the name of Ashley cannon and shipped my box from Cincinnati Ohio. I happened to find out after the fact that she had scammed someone else in la. Be wary and on the look for crap like this.
